Smoove and Turrell returned with a bang in 2018 with a stunning fifth studio album, ‘Mount Pleasant’, which was released June 29th on Jalapeno Records.

Conceived as the middle album of a trilogy starting with their previous “Crown Posada”, the new record showcases the evocative lyrics and voice of John Turrell alongside the glossy production skills of his partner in crime Smoove and is described by John as “an optimistic look at a pessimistic time”.

As always the band have been touring the new album heavily and appearing on various radio and TV shows. Often these shows don’t have the facility for the full band to perform and over the years Smoove & Turrell have adapted their fiery live shows to fit these circumstances – offering heartfelt acoustic versions that showcase John Turrells voice at its finest – raw and unplugged.

As these versions have proved such a hit with fans the boys decided to collect four acoustic versions from their latest Mount Pleasant album together for release.

The Allergies are one of my favorite music artists, hands down! This inspired funky as can be music is so addictive, be warned. It ranges from funky soul, Northern Soul stylings, 60's styled Motown or Spector, Conscious Hip-Hop, Latin, Gospel, 70's Soul; my favorite is more like my favorite tracks, (plural): Every Trick in the Book & Get Yourself some, not a dud track.
